DK Metcalf gets into explosive Twitter feud with Shannon Sharpe

DK Metcalf doesn’t want your questions, or Shannon Sharpe’s.

The Seahawks receiver got into it with the Fox Sports personality on Twitter Monday after Sharpe wondered why Metcalf failed to run out of bounds in a key spot during Sunday night’s game.

“Stop questioning me lil boy,” Metcalf tweeted in response to Sharpe, who wondered why Metcalf was trying to “play the hero.”

“Nothing to question,” Sharpe tweeted back. “That was ‘DUMB ASS’ play and your pride won’t let you admit it. ‘You’ can’t question anything I’ve done. Pray your resume will be as complete as mine, PRAY. Enjoy the rest of your day.”

With 18 seconds to go in the fourth quarter, Metcalf made a catch on the left sideline with space to run out of bounds and set Seattle up for a game-tying field goal. Instead, he kept running forward, fumbling the ball before Seattle’s Freddie Swain recovered it to keep possession.

The Seahawks then had to scramble to spike the ball, a break going their way when Metcalf’s catch was reviewed, allowing them to set up the game-tying score.

Metcalf escalated things, calling Sharpe — a Pro Football Hall of Famer — a “washed up wanna be.”

Though Metcalf’s failure to step out of bounds didn’t ultimately stop Seattle from tying the score, which it did before losing 23-20 in overtime, there’s not much of an argument that he should have done so.

Perhaps begrudgingly, Metcalf got back on Twitter once things had calmed down to try and make amends.

“You know what, you right @ShannonSharpe,” he tweeted. “I do pray my resume can matchup with yours.”
