Bryan Cranston has listed for sale the California home he put a lot of time and effort into building from the ground up.
The “Breaking Bad” actor is selling his dream beachfront house in Ventura, California. The property is listed for $4,995,000 with Jon Perkins and Katie Walsh of Coldwell Banker, People reported Friday.
The house is special to Cranston since he was the one who custom-built it for years while he was working on his hit crime drama series. In fact, he only moved into the place when “Breaking Bad” wrapped up in 2013.
The 64-year-old Hollywood actor did not fully disclose why he is selling the property, but he did say in a press release issued by the real estate agency that he is now ready to turn it over to new owners who would appreciate what he made.
“I put my heart, soul and blood, sweat and often tears into it, and I'm glad because it was such an artistic endeavor, and yet functional. There's something lovely about creating something with tremendous pride and effort and turning it over… letting someone else take it to the next level of appreciation,” he said in the statement.
“I hope a family buys it so that their kids and grandkids all come to visit, and they can jump in the ocean and learn how to swim or surf and go for walks on the beach – look at the dolphins that come by almost every morning and afternoon. And end of the day, on the deck, share a glass of wine with friends as you watch the sunset into the horizon,” the actor added.
Based on the official listing, the 2,450-square-foot house is situated on a quiet stretch of a beach between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara. It has three bedrooms and four bathrooms that were expertly designed to showcase luxury and sustainability at the same time.
The property also comes with a modern kitchen, huge sliding doors, high-end cabinetry, polished concrete flooring and custom-made modern furnishings. It also boasts appliances with smart home capabilities and a massive outdoor patio space.
The listing comes months after Cranston opened up about his own experience of battling COVID-19. He was diagnosed in July but has since recovered. Nevertheless, he admitted in December that only 70% of his sense of smell and taste came back following the ordeal.
