Brian Laundrie Update: Manner Of Death Determined As Suicide, Twitter Users Not Surprised

Brian Laundrie died by suicide from a gunshot wound to the head, the Laundrie family attorney said in a statement on Tuesday.

"Chris and Roberta Laundrie have been informed that the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head and the manner of death was suicide," attorney Steven Bertolino said.

An official autopsy has yet to be released.

This announcement comes about a month since Laundrie’s remains were found at a Florida preserve after weeks of searching for his whereabouts. At the time, the autopsy came back inconclusive and was sent to an anthropologist for further evaluation.

Among the items found near Laundrie’s body was his notebook, which could contain a potential suicide note or written explanation that would help uncover some of the mysteries that have been haunting the family of his fiancée Gabby Petito.

It remains unclear where Laundrie’s gun is currently located or how he obtained the weapon.

Laundrie, 23, went missing on Sept. 14 after authorities found Petito's remains at a national forest in Wyoming. Petito's death was ruled a homicide by manual strangulation and Laundrie was determined to be a person of interest.

Laundrie went viral on Twitter following the news of his autopsy. People all around the U.S. have been reacting to the autopsy results as they try to make sense of what happened between the couple before their respective deaths.
