Arkansas vs. Vanderbilt line, prediction: Take the Over

The Arkansas offense has been humming at a top 20 pace in the nation, and now the Razorbacks face the SEC’s least-efficient defense in Nashville on Saturday as they battle Vanderbilt.

The Commodores rank 232nd in the country in points allowed on a per-possession basis and 253rd in opponent field goal shooting percentage. But they have upgraded their offense, scoring at least 72 points in four of their past five games to remain competitive.

Arkansas comes in having allowed at least 69 points in each of its past 10 games and is allowing opponents to make 36.2 percent of their 3-point shots since SEC play began.

Vanderbilt is attempting 47.4 percent of its field goals from 3-point range, which is the 17-highest rate among Division I teams. Each of the Commodores top six scorers is making more than 35 percent of his 3-point shots.

Since coach Eric Musselman took over at Arkansas two seasons ago, the Razorbacks have played 84 percent of their games against SEC foes over the total, the highest rate in the nation over that time. With a pair of capable offenses going up against defenses that have left a lot to be desired recently, the Arkansas Over trend should continue.

The play: Arkansas-Vanderbilt total, Over 152.5.
