Antonio Banderas says he wants Tom Holland to play ‘Zorro’ in a reboot

Antonio Banderas is ready to pass the mask.

The “Puss and Boots” actor revealed Saturday that he wants “Spiderman” alum Tom Holland to don the legendary Zorro mask should the franchise get a reboot, exclusively reveals Comicbook.

When asked who he would like to see take up the mantle of World’s Greatest Swordsman, he immediately said Holland.

“Tom Holland,” the 56-year-old actor said. “I did ‘Uncharted’ with him and he’s so energetic and fun and he’s got this spark, too. Why not?”

The former “Spy Kids” star said that he would also consider coming back to the franchise.

“Yes, I would. I would consider that possibility. Why not,” said Banderas.

“I think during today’s interviews I said something like that to somebody… I said that if they call it Zorro, I will do what Anthony Hopkins did in the first movie and so give the torch to somebody else.”

Currently, there are no plans for a “Zorro” reboot.

The Post reached out to Holland and Banderas for comment.

According to Banderas, in June of 2021 famed director Quinton Tarantino approached him about the possibility of doing a crossover between “Django Unchained” and the Zorro franchise.

“He just came up to me and I was like, ‘In your hands? Yeah, man,” Banderas said to USA Today.

“Because Quentin just has that nature to do those type of movies and give them quality. Even if they are based on those types of B-movies of the ’60s and ’70s, he can take that material and do something really interesting.”

“We’ve never worked together, but it would be great because of him, because of Jamie Foxx and because of (playing) Zorro again when he’s a little bit older. It would be fantastic and funny and crazy,” continued the actor.
