Alex Rodriguez in viral moment next to Kathryne Padgett during Suns’ blowout loss

Was Alex Rodriguez taking a courtside catnap?

It certainly seemed that way on Sunday in Phoenix, where the former Yankees slugger, 46, was caught on camera with his eyes appearing to be closed as the Mavericks steamrolled the Suns, 123-90, in Game 7 of their Western Conference semifinals series.

The apparent snooze naturally caught Twitter’s attention, with the masses likening Rodriguez — who was sitting beside rumored girlfriend Kathryne Padgett — to the Suns’ performance.

“Sleeping like the Suns in the first half,” the account for “Avry’s Sports Show” remarked, while another quipped, “Why not ?? The suns are.”

The Mavericks were up by 30 points at halftime, with Mavericks point guard Luka Doncic putting up 35 points in Sunday’s win, along with 10 rebounds and four assists in just 30 minutes.

“Honestly, I think we deserve this. We’ve been playing hard the whole series. Maybe a couple of games here we weren’t ourselves, but we came here with a statement in Game 7. We believed. Our locker room believed. Everybody believed. So I’m just happy,” Doncic said postgame, per ESPN.

Doncic wasn’t the only one celebrating, as Padgett — a Dallas-based fitness competitor who was first linked to Rodriguez in January — later congratulated Mavericks owner Mark Cuban on the victory.

“Congrats!!!” she wrote in an Instagram Story.

Padgett and Rodriguez have been spotted courtside during the NBA playoffs, notably in Minnesota to support the Timberwolves, a franchise the ESPN analyst co-owns. Minnesota was knocked off by the Memphis Grizzlies in the first round.
